i-SOBOT: Smallest Humanoid Robot Does It All
Writing by Evan Ackerman on Monday, 13 of August , 2007 at 2:41 am

What’s 6.5 inches tall and can keep you entertained for hours on end? Not that. No, not that either. It’s i-SOBOT, officially the world’s smallest production humanoid robot. With 17 servos and a built in gyro, i-SOBOT is capable of all sorts of fully articulated movement. He can do pretty much anything you can do, only better… Check out his Dirty Harry impression, for example. Powered by 3 AAA batteries and a wireless remote, he’ll come fully assembled and ready to go right out of the box with about about 180 built-in functions and limited voice recognition capabilities:
At this stage, no programmability beyond combining the built-in functions will be available, but hopefully some enterprising soul will figure out a way of accessing the servos directly. i-SOBOT is scheduled to be released in the US in October for about $350.
