For those of you saying that they’ll be making military exoskeletons next…. Several years ago, DARPA was funding research into exoskeletons for soldiers that would not only increase strength, but carry armor and provide enough shock absorption to allow soldiers to simply jump out of relatively low flying helicopters. I haven’t seen an update on that research recently…

Japanese create for peaceful purposes but I bet somebody in America is thinking how to use this to kill people in the middle east. Some peace loving people.

If an elderly person was giving me sass in that clunky thing, I’d just pull one of those exposed tubes and kick them in the gut. I still think the bio-suit would be a good idea in general. Maybe a few years will make it look less like a bad version of that robot suit from Aliens.

I’m sure most of these machines will cost thousands even decades into the future.
I can see how, if perfected, it could be used by the military for tasks where heavy lifting is required, but unless they made one which enhanced speed I can’t see it being used for battle.

Wow, I can’t see the military using a suit that cumbersome in combat. There’s probably a secret, similar suit being created by the United States government that we’re not hearing about.

I would spend my time worrying about that if I were really that concerned to comment about it, instead of worrying about a technology that may eventually allow my 72-year-old grandmother to move around without back pain. :D

As a heavy equipment operator I understand the need for portable light duty lifting applications in real world environments.

The peaceful ramifications for rescue workers requiring instant strength for life saving applications alone is exponential.

Why give it to old people this would make a great weapon (if improved).

The United States’ military already has robotic exoskeletons just like this (http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/25/sarcos-military-exoskeleton-becomes-a-frightening-reality/). The only inhibition is a power source great enough to last the wearer a long time in battle. This would be a great idea for the elderly or physically impaired, though, as they would only need it to last them short bursts. I do not understand why this article is aimed at the elderly, as the other applications of this technology could have much more impact.

Привет. Возникла проблема – прикупил я электродрель на магазин ру
А она сломалась у меня в тот же день – гарантии никакой не дали. Просто почта пришла с коробкой, а там все на китайском. Прописал в торговый центр данный, ответили, что обращайтесь в сервис центр, хотя у меня ни документов на руках нет, ничего. Как возможно приструнить этот интернет магазин? Есть ли какие-то компетентные органы, что писать. Куда писать, кому писать. Сделал ошибку, да, надо было в торговом центре нормальном прикупить, хотя необходимой мне модели просто не было, да и дешевле в интернет-магазине. А вот и уже сижу у разбитого корыта. Подскажите, что делать.
