Well, Jaime…unless there is a fixed target identified, say a bridge or someother building with a known GPS coordinate, there will always be a Human In The Loop (HITL) should the particular situation require a weapon release decision. Rest assured that if a bad guy is in the cross hairs that’s what will be destroyed. And if intell is correct that’s all that will be destroyed.

I have seen this video (cgi for most of it) from their website. Flying, landing, driving and all this pretty “basic” function are ok, now let’s talk about what really matters is to say moral decisions, say dropping a bomb as seen on TV…There is no way to pass the line of conscientiously (for whatever it means) allow death decisions to artificial entities without bringing up the controversial question about legal right and bounds linking humanity to such beings. We might be able to keep those fact hidden or unspoken for a while, but as it happens with cloning we can foresee a unprecedented debate. It is quite strange to see the concept of A-Life making his way from computer-science to robotics to consumer electronics without a deep reflexion within our society. In the end I guess nobody really care except maybe few isolated and marginalized human beings. I will end quoting though Magician, not computer wizard, my imaginary friend aka Gandalf: Who’s the fool? The fool or the fool following him?
