Your Dog Wants A FetchBot

FetchBot

There are some dogs out there who like to play fetch. A lot. Given the opportunity, they’ll play fetch until their legs fall off, but what happens more often is their owner’s arm falls off first. This is exactly what you need a robot for: a simple, repetitive task with no significant variables.

FetchBot is a tennis ball catapult designed to keep your dog busy. It’s slightly less refined than this version that we saw back in March, but the cool part is that it’s built mostly out of a cannibalized document scanner. It contains some simple electronics to control the motor, but it’s totally something you could build yourself in an afternoon. C’mon, you can do it! And your dog would love you forever.

now we just need a robotic dog to place the ball into the robot ball launcher.

either that or make it more dog interface friendly.
