Video Thursday: Macroswiss Tankbots

Writing by Evan Ackerman on Thursday, 6 of November , 2008 at 8:38 am

In contrast to yesterday’s posting about Macroswiss robots that involved actual prototypes and stuff, there’s nothing much in this video but bots ‘n guns eye-candy. I guess it’s worth mentioning that on some level, Macroswiss means to put some work into these things, but so far they’re little more than good excuses for a CG skirmish.

reminds me of counter strike….

the quadchopter is an interesting idea at very least. there are some similar designs by universities out there.

Evan do you ever go out to all the university competitions? Like AUVSI’s competitions? IGVC? etc.

I certainly would if I could, but unfortunately BotJunkie keeps me on more of a “scraps of food on the table” budget and less of an “exotic travel” budget. A lot of the AUVSI stuff happens on the east coast, and I’m based out of San Francisco. But, SF has RoboDev, RoboGames, Maker Faire, etc… I think it’s a pretty good place to be.

If you see any cool robot stuff and want to send me some pics and a blurb, I’ll happily post it here for everyone to enjoy. :)
