Robot Evolution, German Style

Writing by Evan Ackerman on Friday, 2 of January , 2009 at 3:26 am

This is an ad for a German electronics chain… It’s sort of steampunk/robot mashup with a sexy chick at the end (and we don’t get enough of those around here, for sure). Oh, and a ROBOT BEE!

I don’t know what she’s telling me to do, but I feel oddly compelled to do it. Anyone speak German?

She sais something like:

“The selection was tough, but now it’s there: The strongest technology of all times. Mercilessly low priced.”

And yes, one of the best aids out here in germany atm.

Oh yes, the ad is brilliant. In the last few month Saturn mostly made really spacey advertisments (with that robot-chick) and it seems, that they *finally* discovered robots. Some years ago, they made a small revolution in aggressive advertisements, while they introduced their slogan “Geiz ist geil” (“Stinginess is cool”). Every freaking people on the street were saying this: “Geiz ist geil”. Now they have “Wir hassen teuer” (“We hate expensive”). Needless to say, that you are not saving anything in their shops, that have the charm of a hamstercage with neon-lights. But the ad is pretty awesome. This at least is my HUMBLE opinion. Many Germans love to go there for a shopping.
