Video Monday: Giant Robot Beetle

Writing by Evan Ackerman on Monday, 20 of April , 2009 at 12:01 am

It’s 11 meters long. It weighs 15 tons. It’s based on a rhinoceros beetle, and it’s from Japan. It supports itself on wheels, but it does use its legs to push it along. The best news is that it carries passengers inside its shell, meaning that you can get a firsthand view when this thing goes crazy and attempts to destroy Tokyo before getting stepped on by Godzilla.

That’s so cool and an awesome engineering achievement, to build something that big. WOW I want one. :)

Lets hope it works for the Autobots. If thats a Decepticon, even Optimus Prime’s got problems. :)

It looks like its monster insect season! … Here’s another one just released! … It looks like the only robot that could fight this giant bettle. (This one is a huge spider!).

(Maybe you could include an article about this robot on the front page of your botjunkie web site?)

This is nuts, there’s two of the giant spiders! … They actually build two of them! … Ok, so 2 giant spiders vs 1 giant bettle … Hmmm… my money’s on the huge spiders winning over this Bettle!

I think I need to start work on my giant robot so I can fight these giant robots… Now where can I get a 50 ton rolled up newspaper. :)
