Researchers Teaching Robots To Be Sneaky

Sneaky

Now, this is certainly going to end well… Researchers at Seoul National University in Korea are developing algorithms to teach robots to use cover to stealthily sneak up and intercept targets. The algorithms take into account the size of the robot, the size of objects it can use for cover, and the field of view of whatever the bot is chasing. Basically, the robot lurks under cover, in the shadows, predicts where you’re going, and then when you least expect it jumps out and shouts BOO! Or, like, you know, eviscerates you. Click here for an example of the algorithm in action.
