Too late for the competition, but I would have submitted "a spark of robots".

I am a collective noun enthusiast, so it gives me great cheer to see a competition such as this. The number of excellent suggestions was quite overwhelming! I expect that 'an assemblage of robots' will come into common usage rapidly, and shall be recognised by the Oxford English Dictionary before long.

I've been running a little collective noun contest of my own. My site, All Sorts, searches Twitter for the #collectivenouns hashtag. Every tweet that it finds is analysed for a phrase of the form 'an X of Y'. If such a phrase is found, then the collective noun and noun are both indexed in a database. Over the course of several months, All Sorts has gathered some thousand suggestions.

If anyone who participated in this competition was to submit their suggestions (keeping it to 1 per tweet) on Twitter, I would be delighted.

At time of writing, there have yet to be any suggestions for robots...

Congrats to Andrew and Denomolus. I put "clank" as my top choice but it was two hours too late, hehe. I like it: An assemblage of robots. ;)

I was talking about this today to my girlfriend and her suggestion might even be better than mine: "A frustration of robots."

Yay! Congrats Andrew. I'm pleased and surprised that one of my suggestions placed. My geek cred just went up a notch. Thanks to Lem Fuggit.

I forgot about this contest, poo.

I know it's belated, but here are mine:

* Ro-band
* aggregate
* Ro-lots (this is more of a pun)

After reading the lists, "cluster" was my personal pick. But "assemblage" does seem to make sense. I can work with it. :-)
