This video makes it to YouTube, where my cousin sees it, who emails the link to me because she knows I work in a robotics lab. The funny thing is, she didn't know that we have this very same system. There must have been a media demo that sparked the recent coverage, but these hands have been around a while. (Namiki, IROS'03) Prof. Namiki is now at Chiba University and I think his group is going to have the robot play air hockey next. Watch for updates on his website.
