I knew I wasn’t the only one who though “OMG IT’S A DRAGOON” when I saw this robot … Andrew over at Trossen Robotics picked up on it too, and the designer of this robot, a guy named Drew, has never even played Starcraft but has since had to look up what a Dragoon is since that’s what everyone (else) seemed to immediately think of. And since it doesn’t have any other name besides “radially symmetrical walking machine,” Dragoon seems as good a name as any.

The control scheme for this robot is much like CrabFu’s robots, in that there’s no programing persay, with all of the walking motions controlled entirely through joysticks (on Wii Nunchucks!), giving the robot a much more organic style of motion:

Just make sure and keep it away from Zerglings, that’s all I have to say. And Siege Tanks.

Drew has lots more info on this robot over on his blog.
