2 Meter Tall Robot Plays Soccer, Needs Eyebrow Wax

Off the top of my head (which is nowhere near the top of this robot’s head), this could be the tallest bipedal robot that I’ve ever seen. It’s called Hajime 33, and it was designed by Hajime Sakamoto, famous for his smaller combat humanoids. Hajime 33 weighs in at 44 pounds and is 6′ 5″ (almost 2 meters) tall. As you can see in the video, it can not only walk, but also kick a soccer ball, meaning that has wobbly as it looks, it can stand on one leg and shift its weight without falling over.

What’s the point? Well, it’s cool, but Hajime Sakamoto plans to build a full size walking Gundam within the next 10 years, and Hajime 33 is part of a series of progressively larger robots that will, hopefully, culminate in something like this. Except, you know, real.
