I’m not really sure about his work. His animatronics can be quite good, but are still clearly situated in the uncanny valley, with no way to escape it in the foreseeable future. Even if robots had human-level intelligence, his animatronics still couldn’t pass as humans. As such, while his work can be commended, I think it is doomed to never achieve its intended goal. Unless, of course, he starts cloning human tissue ala Terminator.
