Crowbot Talks To The Birds

Writing by Evan Ackerman on Friday, 12 of February , 2010 at 2:20 am

This is Crowbot (not this). Crowbot was designed by Hiromi Ozaki (with help from a couple of experts in crow intelligence), and can reproduce a variety of crow calls. By choosing the right calls, Crowbot can attract crows, repel crows, and from the looks of it, seriously confuse crows:

Oh, and there’s more…

So, Crowbot is the robotic companion of Crowbot Jenny, a “reclusive girl who prefers to spend time surrounded by technology and animals rather than with humans.” Crowbot helps her to communicate with, and control, her “crow army:”

And the real life costume (she’s holding the robot in her right hand):

Ultimately, Crowbot Jenny will be starring in her own film based on some of the avian research being done at the University of Cambridge.
